Alfred Maycock
Aubrey Alfred Maycock (born 26 June 1949) is a former Guyanese cricketer who played a single first-class match for Essequibo in the final of the 1980–81 inter-county Jones Cup. Maycock was born in Suddie in what was then British Guiana (now part of Guyana's Pomeroon-Supenaam region). During the 1975–76 season, the Pakistan International Airlines cricket team toured the West Indies, playing two matches in Georgetown. Suddie
Suddie is a community in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, located on the Atlantic Ocean, one mile north of Onderneeming. Suddie Hospital is a small (approximately 100-bed) hospital. Rural outreach clinics are sent into the interior and along the Essequibo River from Suddie Hospital. Suddie also has a market. A High Court was opened in 2005. Kamroze Mohammed
Kamroze Mohammed (born 6 January 1951) is a former Guyanese cricketer who played a single first-class match for Essequibo in the final of the 1980–81 inter-county Jones Cup. Born in Vergenoegen in what was then British Guiana (now part of Guyana's Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region), Mohammed opened the batting with Fitz Garraway in both innings of the match, played against Berbice at the Kayman Sankar Cricket Ground in Hampton Court (on the Atlantic coast). He scored seven runs in the first innings, before being dismissed by Reginald Etwaroo leg before wicket. In the second innings, he was out for a duck, caught by Amarnauth Ramcharitar off the bowling of Kamal Singh. Colin Everton Hunte Croft (born 15 March 1953) is a former West Indian international cricketer. Cricket career Croft was (along with Andy Roberts, Michael Holding and Joel Garner) part of the potent West Indian quartet of fast bowlers from the late 70s and early 80s. With his height (), he bowled bouncers and was very aggressive. He was renowned for bowling wide of the crease over the wicket and angling the ball in to right-handers. His approach to the wicket was unconventional and footage of Croft bowling around the wicket show him on a run-up more typical of a ''left''-arm bowler. Demerara Cricket Team
Demerara cricket team played first class cricket in the Jones Cup, later the Guystac Trophy, and came from the former British colony of Demerara, which is now a county of Guyana, formerly British Guiana. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
