Alfred L. Buchan
Alfred L. Buchan (March 4, 1847 – February 17, 1905) was an American physician and politician serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Born in what is now the town of Dover, Racine County, Wisconsin, Buchan received his Master of Arts degree from Monmouth College and then graduated from Rush Medical College and Bellevue Hospital and College. He then practiced medicine in Union Grove, Wisconsin and Racine, Wisconsin. Dover is a town in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,908 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Beaumont, Eagle Lake Manor, Eagle Lake Terrace, Kansasville, and Rosewood are located in the town. The census-designated place of Eagle lake is also located in the town. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.7 km), of which, 35.4 square miles (91.6 km) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km) of it (2.27%) is water. Demographics At the 2000 census there were 3,908 people, 1,193 households, and 889 families in the town. The population density was 110.5 people per square mile (42.7/km). Racine County (, sometimes also ) is a county in southeastern Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, its population was 197,727, making it Wisconsin's fifth-most populous county. Its county seat is Racine. The county was founded in 1836, then a part of the Wisconsin Territory. Racine County comprises the Racine metropolitan statistical area. The Republican Party, also referred to as the GOP ("Grand Old Party"), is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States.
