Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Alf Bonnevie Bryn
Alf Bonnevie Bryn (26 August 1889 – 12 September 1949) was a Norwegian patent engineer, mountaineer, golf player, novelist and non-fiction writer. Personal life Bryn was born in Kristiania, the son of Alfred Jørgen Bryn and a grandson of Jacob Aall Bonnevie. He was married to Sofie Lind Mortensen from 1912 to 1920, to Sigrid Gude from 1921 to 1945, and to Bodil Harriet Martinsen from 1946. He died in Oslo in 1949. Career Bryn finished his secondary education in 1906, and then enrolled for engineering studies in Switzerland. He was an eager climber, and was a co-founder of the mountaineering club Norsk Tindeklub in 1908. He made several first ascents in Switzerland, Corsica and Norway, including the first successful ascent of Stetind in 1910 (together with Ferdinand Schjelderup and Carl Wilhelm Rubenson). Thomas Bryn
Thomas Bryn (29 March 1782 – 6 September 1827) was a Norwegian jurist, magistrate and civil servant. He served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly. Thomas Bryn was born at Kongsberg in Buskerud, Norway. Bryn was the son of Thomas Thomassen Bryn (1756-1830) who was director of mining at the Kongsberg Silver Mines. He first worked as a printer's assistant and later clerk in Buskerud. After a few years of service, he traveled to the University of Copenhagen to study law. In 1805, he earned his law degree and returned to Kongsberg. He some found work in the administration of District Governor Herman Wedel Jarlsberg. In 1808, he married Susanne Lind (1783 - 1827). The couple had eight children. The family lived at Klubbgaarden in Larvik and owned the Lunde farm in Tjølling. In 1810 he was appointed judge in Østre Råbyggelaget. Knud Bryn
Knud Ørn Bryn (15 March 1855 – 28 May 1941) was a Norwegian engineer and industrialist. He was one of the pioneers in the development of modern hydropower plants in Norway. Biography Bryn was born in Trondheim, Norway. He was the son of Thomas Bryn (1813-1902) and Kristine Emilie Caroline Richter (1825-1869). He was the brother of anthropologist Halfdan Bryn and engineer Alfred Bryn. Bryn graduated from the Trondheim Technical School (''Trondhjems Tekniske Læreanstalt'') in 1874 and completed engineering exam at the Technical University of Munich in 1877. Halfdan Bryn
Halfdan Bryn (20 May 1864 – 5 March 1933) was a Norwegian physician and physical anthropologist. Early life Bryn was born in Trondheim, Norway, the son of physician Thomas Bryn (1813–1902) and Kristine Emilie Karoline Richter (1826–1869). He was a grandson of Thomas Bryn, Sr., and a brother of Knud Ørn Bryn and Alfred Jørgen Bryn. In November 1892, he married Wilhelmine "Willa" Thane (1873–1929). He was also an uncle of Alf Bonnevie Bryn and Finn Bryn. Bryn took his examen artium in 1882 and graduated cand.med. from the University of Oslo in 1889. Military career Bryn first practiced as a physician in Dakota and New York between 1890 and 1891, before working as a chief resident at the hospital in Trondheim from 1891 to 1892, and then starting his own medical practice. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old.
