Alfie Bowtell
Alfred (Alfie) Bowtell (born 23 January 1997) is a British speedway rider, who rides in the SGB Championship. Career It was announced, on 6 March 2015, that Bowtell had signed for the Rye House Raiders for his debut season in the National League. By the end of the season he had progressed out of the reserve and moved into the number 2 position, increasing his average from 3.00 to 3.95. Bowtell moved to Mildenhall Fen Tigers for the 2016 National League season. He maintained his position at number 2 throughout the season and increased his average to 4.21 by the end of the season. On 12 December 2017, Bowtell signed for Lakeside Hammers, after they dropped down to the National League from the top flight. He helped Lakeside finish 4th in the league. SGB Championship 2021
The SGB Championship 2021 was the second tier division, called the SGB Championship, of the British speedway championship in 2021. Changes from the last edition of the Championship (held in 2019) were the addition of three teams and the loss of two teams. The 2019 Premiership club Poole Pirates, were the biggest profile club to join the league after dropping down from the highest league. Also the Kent Kings and Plymouth Gladiators both joined the league from the National Development League. Sheffield Tigers left the league to move up to the highest division and Somerset Rebels withdrew from the league altogether. The league started on 21 May with twelve teams participating and race meetings were covered by Eurosport. Eastbourne () is a town and seaside resort in East Sussex, on the south coast of England, east of Brighton and south of London. 2023 National Development League Speedway Season
The 2023 National Development League is the third division/tier of British speedway for the 2023 season. It is a semi-professional development league, containing mainly the junior sides of SGB Premiership and SGB Championship clubs. Leicester Lion Cubs will defend the title. Summary Eight clubs will compete for the National Development League Championship after the addition of the Workington Comets to the league, who will race on the new Northside track. Armadale Devils were renamed Edinburgh Monarchs Academy, while the Plymouth Centurions did not return. The league points system changed in-line with the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship, with teams scoring two points for a win (home or away), with a bonus point scored for an aggregate win. A 'Super Heat' has also been introduced in the event of a tied meeting, with the winners scoring two league points and the losers gaining one point.
