Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is a sports car produced by Italian automotive manufacturer Alfa Romeo between 2007 and 2010. It was first presented as a concept car at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show and later offered for sale for the 2007 model year. The name refers to the eight-cylinder (''cilindro'' in Italian) engine (8C) and Alfa Romeo's racing pedigree (''Competizione'', Italian for 'competition'). The company received over 1,400 orders for the 8C after the official announcement that the car would enter production. However, only 500 customers ended up with the 8C Competizione and another 329 with the 8C Spider, bringing the production total to 829 cars. 2003 concept car The 8C Competizione was first shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003. Wolfgang Egger
Wolfgang Josef Egger (born 13 February 1963) is a car designer from Germany, a former Audi Group head designer, and currently a BYD Group head designer. Biography Egger was born in Oberstdorf, Germany, and studied Design at the International College of Arts and Sciences in Milan, Italy. In 1989, he graduated as an industrial designer. Egger began his professional career in 1989 in the Design department at Alfa Romeo. In 1993, he was appointed Chief Designer of Alfa Romeo. In 1998, he became Chief Designer at SEAT, where he was able to input his personal style in, for example, the SEAT Ibiza, Cordoba and Altea. In 2001, W. J. Targa Florio
The Targa Florio was a public road endurance automobile race held in the mountains of Sicily near the island's capital of Palermo. Founded in 1906, it was the oldest sports car racing event, part of the World Sportscar Championship between 1955 and 1973. While the first races consisted of a whole tour of the island, the track length in the race's last decades was limited to the of the Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie, which was lapped 11 times. After 1973, it was a national sports car event until it was discontinued in 1977 due to safety concerns. Mille Miglia
The Mille Miglia (, ''Thousand Miles'') was an open-road, motorsport endurance race established in 1927 by the young Counts Francesco Mazzotti and Aymo Maggi, which took place in Italy twenty-four times from 1927 to 1957 (thirteen before World War II, eleven from 1947). Like the older Targa Florio and later the Carrera Panamericana, the ''MM'' made grand tourers like Alfa Romeo, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche famous. The race brought out an estimated five million spectators. From 1953 until 1957, the Mille Miglia was also a round of the World Sports Car Championship. The International Motor Show Germany or International Mobility Show Germany, in German known as the ''Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung'' (''IAA'' – International Automobile Exhibition), is one of the world's largest mobility shows.
