Alf Williamson
Alfred Williamson (6 October 1893 – 11 April 1917) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family He was born in Toongabbie, to Reuben and Annie Williamson. He studied at Sale Agricultural High School; and was transferred to Melbourne High School in 1914, where he was a popular and successful Manual arts teacher. At the time of his enlistment (19 June 1915) he was still working there as a school teacher. He is the great uncle of Gary Ablett Sr., and the great, great uncle of Gary Ablett Jr. Footballer Recruited from the Melbourne Teachers Training College, he played his first senior VFL match for Carlton on 18 May 1912, on the half-forward flank, against Collingwood, at Princes Park. Toongabbie, Victoria
Toongabbie is a town located in the City of Latrobe and Shire of Baw Baw, Victoria, Australia, from Melbourne and just north of Traralgon. The railway station was closed in 1986 and the former railway line has now been incorporated into the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail. At the , Toongabbie had a population of 500. Roy Park (sportsman)
Roy Lindsay Park (30 July 1892 – 23 January 1947) was an Australian sportsman and doctor. The son of a Methodist minister, he played cricket for Australia and also Australian rules football in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne. Park also served in the Australian Imperial Force in World War I. Football career Park started his senior VFL career at University, making his debut in 1912. He had an immediate impact as the club's leading goal kicker with 22. Alexander Fraser (Australian Politician)
Alexander John Fraser (22 August 1892 – 9 July 1965) was an Australian politician. Fraser was educated at Kyneton College in Kyneton, Victoria, before becoming a company manager. He was a good enough Australian rules footballer to play ten games for Melbourne in the 1914 and 1915 Victorian Football League seasons. John Filomeno "Percy" Rodriguez (5 January 1893 – 20 March 1917) was an Australian rules footballer who played with University and Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Alf George
Alfred Thomas George (7 September 1884 – 28 April 1946) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne and Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). George was the captain of Melbourne for the 1912 and 1913 seasons. Early life George was born in Mount Egerton on 7 September 1884. He played football for Seymour, Numurkah and, finally, Essendon Association, before being recruited to play for Essendon. Football career Essendon George was recruited at the beginning of 1906 and he made his VFL debut in round 3 of that year, going on to play 16 games in his first season. George generally played as a ruckman, but could also play in defence and was known for his marking ability. Frank Lugton
Frank Leslie Lugton (4 November 1893 – 29 July 1916) was an Australian sportsman who played first-class cricket for Victoria and Australian rules football for Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family One of the ten children of Charles Edward Lugton (1860-1927), and Jane Ann Lugton (1861-1944), née May, Frank Leslie Lugton was born at Northcote, Victoria on 4 November 1893. His older brother, Edward Charles Lugton (1885-1939), served as a gunner in the First AIF. Another brother, John Archibald Lugton (1889-1918), also served in the First AIF, and died of wounds sustained in action in August 1918. Joe Pearce (footballer)
Arthur Mueller "Joe" Pearce (28 January 1885 – 25 April 1915) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Throughout his life, he was always known as "Joe". He was a member of the First AIF, and was killed in action whilst landing at Gallipoli, Ottoman Turkey on 25 April 1915, during the Gallipoli campaign. His 152 League games became the most of any VFL player killed in World War I.
