Alexis Wangmene
Alexis Mang-Ikri Wangmene (born March 1, 1989) is a Cameroonian professional basketball player who plays for FAP of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns and has represented the Cameroon national team. Early life Wangmene was spotted by San Antonio Spurs general manager R. C. Buford at a ''Basketball Without Borders'' camp in his native Cameroon. Buford and his wife brought Wangmene to the United States and resettled him in San Antonio, where he played basketball and attended Central Catholic Marianist High School for two years. During his junior year at Central, the power forward was named to the TAPPS 6A All-State team. Following his junior year, Wangmene transferred to Blair Academy in New Jersey, from which he graduated in 2007. FAP Basketball
Forces Armées et Police Basketball (), commonly known as simply FAP or FAP Yaoundé, is a basketball team based in Yaoundé, Cameroon. It is the basketball team of the Cameroonian armed forces and police. The team previously played in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and domestically plays the Elite Messieurs. FAP has won the national championship three times, the Cameroon Cup once, and the Central Region League Championship three times. The Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex serves as home arena of the team. History The club was established in 1972 in Yaoundé. 2021–22 NBA G League Season
The 2021–22 NBA G League season is the 21st season of the NBA G League, the official minor league basketball organization owned by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The prior season, the league played a shortened season with 18 teams and all games were held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Bay Lake, Florida, in similar to the 2020 NBA Bubble due to the ongoing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021–22 season consists of the Showcase Cup from November 5 to December 22 with all 30 teams participating. Following the showcase, 28 of the league's teams began a traditional regular season from January 5 to April 2 followed by playoffs. The 2012 NBA draft was held on June 28, 2012, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The draft started at 7:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (2300 UTC), and was broadcast in the United States on ESPN. Basketball Without Borders is a basketball instructional camp organized by the NBA in conjunction with FIBA. Basketball Africa League
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is Africa's premier men's basketball league. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Inc., Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi. Its 2021 BAL season, inaugural season started with the qualifying rounds in October 2019 and the regular season in May 2021.
