Aleksei Sorokin (politician)
Aleksei Sorokin (; 17 March 1888, Tallinn – 1 April 1933, Tallinn) was an Estonian lawyer and politician. He was regarded as one of the leading representatives of the Russian minority in Estonia during the interwar period. Life Sorokin was born into a Russian-speaking family in Tallinn. He attended the Grammar School of Emperor Nikolai I (today Gustav Adolf Grammar School). In 1912, he graduated with a degree in jurisprudence from Saint Petersburg State University. From 1912 to 1914, he worked at the District Court of Tallinn. From 1914, he worked as a lawyer and defense lawyer and as a legal adviser to authorities in Tallinn. With the declaration of independence of Estonia in 1918, Sorokin went into politics. At the end of 1918, he founded the "Provisional Russian Council of Estonia" (Estonian: Eesti Ajutine Vene Nõukogu) with like-minded people, representing the Russians living in Estonia. Alexey Sorokin (admiral)
Alexey Ivanovich Sorokin (russian: Алексе́й Ива́нович Соро́кин) (28 March 1922 – 4 March 2020) was a Soviet Fleet Admiral and member of the Congress of People's Deputies of the Soviet Union. Sorokin was born one of five children. His father, a veteran invalid of the Russian Civil War, died in 1933 and his brother, Seraphim, was reported as missing in action at the front near Moscow in March 1942. Sorokin joined the Red Army in 1941 and served as a mortar operator. He was promoted to lieutenant, commanding a mortar battery and fought during the liberation of Belarus and with the Baltic Front. After the war, Sorokin served as a political officer and studied at the Lenin Military-Political Academy between 1948 and 1952. After graduating Sorokin was posted to the Navy and served as a political officer on the destroyers ''Redkiy'' and ''Vdumchevy'' of the Soviet Pacific Fleet. Alexey Sorokin (born 29 November 1983) is a Russian fashion designer of womenswear label ''Homo Consommatus''. Education In 2008, the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design housed the designer's final graduation collection. Its main idea was consumerism and the 'wrapping of a person' as means of identification and self-defense. Career Two years after the graduation Sorokin set up luxury womenswear label Homo Consommatus, which is Latin for "consuming person".
