''Alexandria Again and Forever'' ( arz, إسكندرية كمان وكمان, translit.Iskandria Kaman wa Kaman, french: Alexandrie Encore et Toujours) is the final entry in a trilogy of films by director Youssef Chahine. This 104-minute-long film is mainly in Arabic, with English-language subtitles. It was preceded by the films '' Alexandria... Why?'' (1978) and ''An Egyptian Story'' (1982). The film features (Salah Zulfikar), (Soad Hosny) and (Adel Emam) among others in cameo appearances representing the Egyptian actors syndicate. Youssef Chahine ( ar, يوسف شاهين, Yūsuf Shāhīn ; 25 January 1926 – 27 July 2008) was an Egyptians, Egyptian film director. He was active in the Cinema of Egypt, Egyptian film industry from 1950 until his death. He directed twelve films that were listed in the Top 100 Egyptian films list. A winner of the Cannes 50th Anniversary Award (for lifetime achievement), Chahine was credited with launching the career of actor Omar Sharif. Egypt has submitted films for consideration for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1958, when Youssef Chahine's ''Cairo Station'' became both the first African and the first Arab film to contend for the award. The Foreign Film award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The award was created for the 1956 Academy Awards, succeeding the non-competitive Honorary Academy Awards which were presented between 1947 and 1955 to the best foreign language films released in the United States. This is a list of submissions to the 63rd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. For the 63rd Academy Awards, thirty-seven films were submitted in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
