Alexandre De Lur-Saluces
Count Alexandre de Lur Saluces, born 20 May 1934 in Vendenesse-lès-Charolles, is a France, French viticulturist who for 36 years acted as manager of Château d’Yquem, and still acts in this capacity for Château de Fargues, both Sauternes, Gironde, Sauternais châteaux held by the Lur Saluces family for generations. Biography Early life A member of the Lur Saluces, a noble family originally from Aquitaine. Born the eighth of nine siblings, he is the son of Amédée de Lur Saluces, and of Eléonore de Chabannes la Palice, niece of Bertrand de Lur Saluces and the daughter of Eugène de Lur-Saluces. He attended the Saint-Martin de France college in Pontoise. Then, he studied at the EDHEC Business School faculty of Law. Ordre National Du Mérite Agricole
The Order of Agricultural Merit (french: link=no, Ordre du Mérite agricole) is an order of merit bestowed by the French Republic for outstanding contributions to agriculture. When it was created in 1883, it was second in importance only to the Legion of Honour within the French order of precedence. History The order was established on 7 July 1883, based on the proposition of the then Minister of Agriculture Jules Méline, in an effort to adequately reward services to agriculture in view of the maximum number of the Legion of Honour that could be awarded yearly. History and profile A sports news magazine, ''Match l'intran'' (a play on ''L'Intransigeant''), was launched on 9 November 1926 by Léon Bailby. Richard Olney (September 15, 1835 – April 8, 1917) was an American statesman. He served as United States Attorney General in the cabinet of Grover Cleveland and Secretary of State under Cleveland. As attorney general, Olney used injunctions against striking workers in the Pullman strike, setting a precedent, and advised the use of federal troops, when legal means failed to control the strikers.
