History The Alexandra Hills Football Club was formed in 1980, under the original name of "The Capalaba Australian rules Football Club" and debuted in the SQAFA 2nd division in 1981. After the team play in four Grand Finals in four years the club was promoted to division one in 1998, the club stayed until another restructure of the competition saw them placed in QSFL First Division in 2001. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball.
