Alexander Williams (colonial Administrator)
Sir Alexander Thomas Williams, KCMG, MBE (13 July 1903 – 8 January 1984) was a British colonial administrator who spent his career in Northern Rhodesia and the Leeward Islands. He was Governor of the Leeward Islands from 1957 to 1959, the last holder of the post. Northern Rhodesia
Northern Rhodesia was a British protectorate in southern Africa, south central Africa, now the independent country of Zambia. Downing College, Cambridge
Downing College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge and currently has around 650 students. A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a head of state (including the Pope) or representative for service to the monarch, the church or the country, especially in a military capacity.
