Alexander Park or Alexandrovsky Park () is a park on Petrogradsky Island of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It is one of the first public parks in St. Petersburg. Structures The park has a semicircular/crescent shape. The Leningrad Zoo is the largest occupant of the park. The other end of the park is the Northwestern Branch of the Russian State University of Justice. A separates the park from the Kronverk (now the Artillery Museum), which otherwise would be at the center of the area. To the south of the park and the Kronverk is the Kronverksky Strait, beyond which is the Peter and Paul Fortress. Alexander Park, or Alexander AEP Park, is a park in Columbus, Ohio, United States. Donated by American Electric Power, the park is located between Battelle Riverfront Park and North Bank Park. It is named after former City Council President Arvin J. Alexander, and features a 1991 memorial in his honor by Carl Faehnle. Alexander Park (1808 – 21 July 1873) was a Scottish-born land owner and politician in colonial New South Wales, Australia. He was born in Selkirk to attorney Alexander Park and Alice Veitch. He migrated to New South Wales in 1826 and was given a land grant in the Paterson district. He owned large vineyards and probably also pastoral land. Alexander Parkes
Alexander Parkes (29 December 1813 29 June 1890) was a metallurgist and inventor from Birmingham, England. He created Parkesine, the first man-made plastic. Biography The son of a manufacturer of brass locks, Parkes was apprenticed to Messenger and Sons, brass founders of Birmingham, before going to work for George and Henry Elkington, who patented the electroplating process. Parkes was put in charge of the casting department, and his attention soon began to focus on electroplating. Parkes took out his first patent (No. 8905) in 1841 on a process for electroplating delicate works of art. His improved method for electroplating fine and fragile objects, such as flowers, was granted a patent in 1843. The process involved electroplating an object previously dipped in a solution of phosphorus contained in bisulphide of carbon, and then in nitrate of silver. Alexandra Rebecca Parks (born 26 July 1984) is an English singer-songwriter. Parks was entered into the BBC Television programme, ''Fame Academy'' by her father. It was a show that she went on to win. Soon after winning ''Fame Academy'', she released her first album entitled ''Introduction'', which went double platinum in the United Kingdom and gold in several other European countries. In 2005 she released her second album, ''Honesty''. Parks was dropped by her label, Polydor, on 8 February 2006. Parks stated that the move was a mutual decision and that things had not worked out. Biography Alex Parks was born in July 1984 and was raised in the village of Mount Hawke, Cornwall. She is the youngest of four siblings. Parks attended college at The Hub in St Austell.
