Alexander Munro MacRobert KC (1873 – 18 October 1930) was a Scottish lawyer and Unionist politician. He was Lord Advocate of Scotland in 1929. Life He was born in 1873 the son of Jean Carmichael and Thomas MacRobert. He was educated at Paisley Grammar School, going on to study law at the University of Edinburgh and then the University of Glasgow graduating MA in 1895 and LLB in 1897. He became an advocate in 1897. In 1910 he was living at 86 Great King Street in Edinburgh's New Town.Edinburgh Post Office Directory 1910-11 He worked with the Admiralty in 1917–18 and as an Advocate Depute from 1919 to 1923. He was appointed King's Counsel in 1919. He was Sheriff of Forfar from 1923 to 1924. He was an unsuccessful parliamentary candidate for Edinburgh Leith in 1922, and was elected for East Renfrewshire in October 1924 holding the seat until his death. Craigie Mason Aitchison (26 January 1882 – 2 May 1941) was a Scotland, Scottish politician and judge. Early life Mason was born on 16 January 1882 in Falkirk, the second son of Elizabeth Mason Craigie and Revd James Aitchison, senior minister of the Erskine United Free Church. He was educated at Falkirk High School and the University of Edinburgh where he was the Vans Dunlop Scholar in Mental Philosophy and Muirhead Prizeman in Civil Law. He graduated with an Master of Arts, MA in 1903 and an Bachelor of Laws, LLB in 1907. Career Aitchison became an Faculty of Advocates, advocate in 1907. He was particularly effective as a defence counsel in criminal cases, and was regarded as the best advocate before a jury since Sheriff Comrie Thomson. William Watson, Baron Thankerton, PC (8 December 1873 – 13 June 1948), was a Scottish Unionist Party politician and judge. Life Born in Edinburgh, Watson was the third son of Margaret Bannatyne (1846–1898) and William Watson, Baron Watson (1827–1899). He was educated at Winchester College and Jesus College, Cambridge, graduating with a Third in Law in 1895. In 1899, he was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates, taking silk in 1914. He was Procurator to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland from 1918 to 1922, and was an advocate depute in 1919. Watson was the Member of Parliament for Lanark South from 1913 to 1918 and for Carlisle from 1924 to 1929. Wilfrid Guild Normand, Baron Normand, (1884 – 5 October 1962), was a Scottish Unionist Party politician and judge. He was a Scottish law officer at various stages between 1929 and 1935, and a member of parliament (MP) from 1931 to 1935. He was Lord President of the Court of Session from 1935 until he became a Law Lord in 1947. Life Normand was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, Oriel College, Oxford, Paris University and the University of Edinburgh. He was admitted as an advocate on 18 March 1910, the same day as the David King Murray, who also became Solicitor General and a Senator of the College of Justice. David Pinkerton Fleming, Lord Fleming (11 February 1877 – 20 October 1944) was a Scottish politician and judge, rising to be Senator of the College of Justice. Life He was born in Rutherglen near Glasgow on 11 February 1877, the son of John Fleming Writer to the Signet and his wife, Isabella Wark Pinkerton. Air Commodore Douglas Douglas-Hamilton, 14th Duke of Hamilton and 11th Duke of Brandon, (3 February 1903 – 30 March 1973) was a Scottish nobleman and aviator who was the first man to fly over Mount Everest. When German Deputy Führer Rudolf Hess made his surprise landing in Scotland in May 1941, he claimed to know Hamilton, who denied that although both were believed to have met at the Berlin Olympics and had possibly remained in contact. Robert Nichol (12 February 1890 – 16 April 1925) was a Scottish Labour Party politician. He was educated at Shawlands Academy, Glasgow. He was first elected at the 1922 general election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Renfrewshire East.
