Alexander Ivanov (art Collector)
Alexander Ivanov (Russian: Александр Иванов, born October 27, 1962) is a Russian art collector who lives in Moscow. He is best known for the Fabergé Museum in Baden-Baden, which is the first private Russian-owned museum outside of Russia. In the 2010s, he claimed that a Middle Eastern collector offered him $2 billion for his Fabergé collection, the world's largest collection in his own words. Other collecting interests include dinosaur fossils, ancient Greek and Roman art, pre-Columbian gold, Old Master paintings, Impressionist paintings, Orthodox icons, and vintage automobiles. His most significant purchase was the 1902 Fabergé egg made as an engagement gift to Baron Édouard de Rothschild fiancée. Aleksandr Ivanov (born 25 April 1993 in Nizhny Tagil) is a Russian race walker who has been banned for life. The AIU ruled in August 2022 that all results, medals, titles, points, prize money and prizes earned by Ivanov from May 7, 2012, until August 25, 2022, are null and void. Ivanov was hit with a doping ban in March 2019 and all of his results between July 9, 2012, and August 17, 2014, were annulled meaning that he was stripped of a gold medal in the 20 kilometres walk event at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics in Moscow, Russia, as well as a 2012 World Junior Championships silver medal and 2012 European Championships silver medal. Alexander Ivanov (chess Player)
Alexander Ivanov (born May 1, 1956) is a Soviet-born American chess grandmaster. Born in Omsk, present-day Russia, he moved to the United States in 1988. FIDE awarded him his Grandmaster title in 1991. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife, fellow chess player and Woman International Master Esther Epstein. Ivanov has competed in four FIDE World Championships (1999, 2000, 2002 and 2004) and four FIDE World Cups (2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011). Ivanov played twice on the Soviet team in the World U26 Team Championship, winning the team Silver medal in 1978 and an individual Gold and team Gold in 1980. He then played for the US team in the 2002 Chess Olympiad. In an USCF tournament in early 2021, despite joining late and missing the first round, Ivanov tied third place with grandmaster Gadir Guseinov.
