Alex Wells
Alexander James Wells (born 27 February 1997) is an Australian professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. Professional career Wells signed with the Baltimore Orioles organization as an international free agent on August 29, 2015. He made his professional debut in 2016 with the Low-A Aberdeen IronBirds, and spent the whole season there, posting a 4–5 record, 2.15 ERA, and a 0.91 WHIP. He spent 2017 with the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds, pitching to an 11–5 record with a 2.38 ERA in 25 games started. Wells spent the 2018 season with the High-A Frederick Keys, going 7–8 with a 3.47 ERA in 135 innings. He opened the 2019 season with the Double-A Bowie Baysox, and spent the season with the team, logging a 8-6 record and 2.95 ERA in 24 appearances. He played in the Arizona Fall League for the Surprise Saguaros following the 2019 season. Bowie Baysox
The Bowie Baysox are a Minor League Baseball team located in Bowie, Maryland. They are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and play in the Eastern League. Their home ballpark is Prince George's Stadium. History From 1989 to 1992, the Orioles' Double-A affiliate was located in Hagerstown, Maryland and called the Suns. When Major League Baseball added two teams in 1993, bids were offered for two new Triple-A franchises, and the Maryland Baseball Limited Partnership (which owned the Suns and also the Advanced-A Frederick Keys) got into the running to put one of the new franchises in central Maryland. Although their bid fell short, the idea of having a team in Bowie was so well-received that the MBLP decided to move the Double-A team across the state from Hagerstown. The Houston Astros are an American professional baseball team based in Houston, Texas. The Minnesota Twins are an American professional baseball team based in Minneapolis. The Twins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. Lachlan Robert Wells (born 27 February 1997) is an Australian professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Career Minnesota Twins Wells pitched for the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League from 2013 to 2015. The Minnesota Twins signed Wells to a minor league contract in 2014. Wells made his professional debut in 2015 with the GCL Twins and spent the whole season there, going 5–2 with a 2.09 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in ten games (nine starts). In 2016, Wells pitched for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, compiling a 6–4 record and 1.77 ERA in 12 starts, and in 2017, he played for the Fort Myers Miracle where he pitched to a 4–10 record and 3.98 ERA in 16 games (14 starts). Wells missed the entire 2018 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
