Alex Vanderkaay
Alex Vanderkaay (born June 21, 1986) is an American competition swimmer. At the 2007 World University Games, Vanderkaay won the silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley (IM). At the 2009 World University Games, he won the gold medal in the 200-meter IM and again the silver medal in the 400-meter IM. While attending the University of Michigan, Vanderkaay swam for the Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving team. He was the national college champion in the 400-yard IM in 2007 and 2008. Vanderkaay is the younger brother of former Michigan swimmers Christian Vanderkaay and four-time Olympic medalist Peter Vanderkaay Peter William Vanderkaay (born February 12, 1984) is an American former competition swimmer who specialized in middle-distance freestyle events and is a four-time Olympic medalist. Rochester, Michigan
Rochester is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 12,711 at the 2010 census. It is a northern suburb in Metro Detroit located 20 miles north of the city of Detroit. Rochester was the first European settlement in Oakland County when it was founded in 1818. The Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU, en, International University Sports Federation) is responsible for the organization and governance of worldwide sports competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 25.
