Alexander David Turner (born 6 January 1986) is an English singer and musician. He is best known as the frontman and principal songwriter of the rock band Arctic Monkeys, with whom he has released seven studio albums. He has also recorded with his side project involving Miles Kane, as the Last Shadow Puppets and also as a solo artist. When Turner was 15, he and three friends formed Arctic Monkeys in their native Sheffield. Their debut album, ''Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'' (2006), became the fastest-selling debut album in British history and was ranked at No. 30 on ''Rolling Stone'' list of the greatest debut albums of all time, with the single "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" becoming a UK number-one hit. Arctic Monkeys
Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2002. The group consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Jamie Cook (guitar, keyboards), Nick O'Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals). Former band member Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) left the band in 2006 shortly after their debut album was released. Suck It And See
''Suck It and See'' is the fourth studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 6 June 2011 by Domino Recording Company. It was produced by the band's longtime collaborator James Ford and was recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles in early 2011, using mostly live takes opposed to overdubbing. Musically, ''Suck It and See'' represents a departure for the band following the darker sound of its predecessor ''Humbug'' (2009), instead featuring guitar pop and psychedelic pop. It was written by band co-frontmen Alex Turner and Miles Kane in 2015. It was produced in Malibu by fellow member James Ford, alongside guest musician Matt Helders, and new bass player, Zach Dawes. Featuring again string arrangements by Owen Pallett. The album artwork features a photo of singer Tina Turner dancing, as photographed by Jack Robinson in November 1969, the original picture was modified by illustrator Matthew Cooper, who gave it a gold tint. Reading And Leeds Festivals
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. Palm Desert Scene
The Palm Desert Scene is a group of related bands and musicians from Palm Desert, California. Their hard rock sound – sometimes described as desert rock – contains elements of heavy metal, psychedelia, blues, punk, alternative, grunge, and other genres.
