Alex Stewart (boxer)
Alex Stewart (28 June 1964 – 16 November 2016) was a professional boxer. He represented Jamaica at the 1984 Olympics, and won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the 1983 Pan American Games. During his professional career, he fought world champions Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman, Oleg Maskaev, and Michael Moorer. Known for being a strong finisher, 40 of his 43 career wins came inside the distance. Amateur career Stewart was a member of the Jamaican 1984 Olympic team. He was beaten by Sweden's Håkan Brock in the quarter final of the heavyweight competition, losing by a 5–0 decision. A year earlier he won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games. He lost to Michael Bentt in a thrilling match in the 1985 Heavyweight Golden Gloves Finals. Alex Stewart (writer)
Alexander Michael Stewart (born 25 July 1958) is a British writer. His best known work is fiction written under the pseudonym Sandy Mitchell—Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 novels, including the Ciaphas Cain series. A full-time writer since the mid-1980s, the majority of his work (as Sandy Mitchell) has been tie-in fiction for Games Workshop's Warhammer fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 science fiction lines, as well as a novelisation of episodes from the high tech thriller series Bugs, for which he also worked as a scriptwriter under his real name. He has also contributed some Warhammer roleplaying game material (including '' Scourge the Heretic'', the first tie-in book to the Dark Heresy roleplaying game) as well as a number of short stories and magazine articles. He lives in the North Essex village of Earls Colne, with his wife and daughter. Alex Stewart (born August 24, 1964) is a former Jamaican-born American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Cal State Fullerton. Early years Stewart was born in the West Indies (Kingston), Jamaica on August 24, 1964. In December 1977, his family migrated to Canada to avoid the political turmoil of his native country. He eventually moved to the United States. Alexander Stewart was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre forward who played for several clubs including St Johnstone and Motherwell. His most enduring achievement was being the scorer of six goals in a Scottish Football League Division One match for Motherwell against Celtic in April 1937 – the match finished 8–0 and remains the Glasgow club's record margin of defeat. Stewart was called up for the Scottish League XI at the start of the following season and played against England's Football League XI, his sole appearance at that level, after impressing in a trial match two weeks earlier.
