Alex Pierson
Alex Pierson (born October 17, 1971 in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian broadcaster. Biography She began working in television in 1995 at CHCH-TV in Hamilton, and later became an employee of CKAL-TV in Calgary. A few years later she returned and began working at CKVR-TV in Barrie, followed by her joining CITY-TV in Toronto. For a few years she was the co-anchor of Toronto's 11 p.m. ''CityNews'' with Mark Dailey, as well as a reporter for ''CityNews at Six'' and cp24. She left Citytv in September 2006. After a hiatus from television news, she returned and joined CIII-TV as a reporter. After 4 years reporting on courts and crime and anchoring the weekend news, Pierson left to take an anchor position with Sun News Network. Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Hamilton has a population of 569,353, and its census metropolitan area, which includes Burlington and Grimsby, has a population of 785,184. The city is approximately southwest of Toronto in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Conceived by George Hamilton when he purchased the Durand farm shortly after the War of 1812, the town of Hamilton became the centre of a densely populated and industrialized region at the west end of Lake Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe. CHML's transmitter power is 50,000 watts using an eight-tower directional antenna array with a signal oriented largely west-northwest to east-southeast, covering the Niagara Peninsula and Western New York, USA strongest; the array is located between Peter's Corners and Cambridge. London (pronounced ) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census. CFPL is a radio station owned by Corus Entertainment and based in London, Ontario, Canada. Transmitter power is 10,000 watts daytime, 5,000 watts nighttime. Broadcast frequency is 980 AM. CFPL uses a four-tower directional antenna with differing patterns during the day and night. The station primarily airs news, and talk programming, as well as London Knights hockey and Toronto Blue Jays games. The studios are located in downtown London, while its transmitter is located south of London at Wellington Road and Scotland Drive. History Originally CJGC, the station first went on the air at approximately 698 kHz, at a time when wavelength was usually used rather than frequency.
