Alexander Newbigging (12 September 1876 – 1976) was a Scottish footballer who played in the Football League for Nottingham Forest, in the Southern Football League for Queens Park Rangers, Reading (two one-season spells) and Coventry City, and in the Scottish Football League for Abercorn and Rangers. Leadhills
Leadhills, originally settled for the accommodation of miners, is a village in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, WSW of Elvanfoot. The population in 1901 was 835. It was originally known as Waterhead. It is the second highest village in Scotland, the highest being neighbouring Wanlockhead, south. It is near the source of Glengonnar Water, a tributary of the River Clyde. Willie Newbigging
William Menzies Newbigging (27 December 1874 – 16 October 1954) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Tottenham Hotspur, Motherwell, Folkestone, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. Career Newbigging started his career with local club Lanark County before joining Tottenham Hotspur for the 1896–97 season when the club turned professional. His debut occurred on 5 September 1896 against Sheppey United in the Southern League Division One. He left after one season with Spurs and went on to play for Motherwell (no appearances in major competitions recorded), Folkestone, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and then back to his hometown club. Ibrox Stadium
Ibrox Stadium is a football stadium on the south side of the River Clyde in the Ibrox area of Glasgow, Scotland. The home of Rangers Football Club, Ibrox is the third largest football stadium in Scotland, with an all-seated capacity of . Opened as Ibrox Park in 1899, it suffered a disaster in 1902 when a wooden terrace collapsed. Vast earthen terraces were built in its place, and a main stand, now a listed building, in 1928. A British record crowd of 118,567 gathered in January 1939 for a league match with Celtic. After the Ibrox disaster of 1971, the stadium was largely rebuilt. The vast bowl-shaped terracing was removed and replaced by three rectangular, all-seated stands by 1981. After renovations were completed in 1997, the ground was renamed Ibrox Stadium.
