Alex Jackson (baseball)
Alexander James Jackson (born December 25, 1995) is an American professional baseball catcher and outfielder in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, and Milwaukee Brewers. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft. Amateur career Jackson attended Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego County, California. In 2012 and 2013, he played in the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game at Wrigley Field. As a junior, Jackson was ranked by MaxPreps as the best high school prospect for the 2014 class and was their Junior of the Year. Jackson verbally committed to the University of Oregon in March 2013. Rob Whalen
Robert Donald Whalen (born January 31, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League. He previously played for the Atlanta Braves and the Seattle Mariners. Early life Whalen's parents are from Queens, New York City, and moved to the Pocono Mountains to raise their children. After Whalen's older sisters graduated from high school, the Whalens moved to Florida, where Whalen would have a better opportunity to pursue a career in baseball. In baseball or softball, a strikeout (or strike-out) occurs when a batter accumulates three strikes during a time at bat. It usually means that the batter is out. The Clinton LumberKings are a collegiate summer baseball team of the Prospect League. They are located in Clinton, Iowa, and play their home games at NelsonCorp Field. From 1956 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's Midwest League. In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A home run is usually achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or hitting either foul pole) without the ball touching the field. Far less common is the "inside-the-park" home run where the batter reaches home safely while the baseball is in play on the field.
