Alex Horton
Alex Horton (born 7 January 2004) is a Welsh cricketer who plays for Glamorgan as a wicket-keeper. Before making his senior debut for Glamorgan, Horton also played for the England under-19 cricket team. Horton was one of the youngest players to represent Glamorgan, after he made his debut for the team in a second XI match. From Newbridge, Caerphilly, Horton took his A-Levels at St Edward's School, Oxford. At the age of 17, Horton signed a five-year contract with Glamorgan, after coming through their academy programme. In September 2021, Horton was named in England's under-19 squad to play in a six-match series against the West Indies. Three months later, Horton was selected in England's squad to play at the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean. Afghanistan National Under-19 Cricket Team
The Afghanistan national under-19 cricket team (Pashto: د افغانستان ۱۹ کلنو لوبډله) represents the country of Afghanistan in under-19 international cricket. Afghanistan has qualified for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup on seven occasions. The team's first tournament was the 2010 World Cup in New Zealand, which they reached by finishing runner-up to Ireland in the 2009 World Cup Qualifier. Afghanistan has qualified for every subsequent World Cup. Although the team placed 16th and last in its first tournament in 2010, it rapidly became one of the leading under-19 teams in Asia. Stumped
Stumped is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket, which involves the wicket-keeper putting down the wicket while the batsman is out of his ground. (The batsman leaves his ground when he has moved down the pitch beyond the popping crease, usually in an attempt to hit the ball). The action of stumping can only be performed by a wicket-keeper, and can only occur from a legitimate delivery (i.e. not a no-ball), while the batsman is not attempting a run; it is a special case of a run out. Being "out of his ground" is defined as not having any part of the batsman's body or his bat touching the ground behind the crease – i.e., if his bat is slightly elevated from the floor despite being behind the crease, or if his foot is on the crease line itself but not completely across it and touching the ground behind it, then he would be considered out (if stumped). In cricket, the toss is the flipping of a coin to determine which captain will have the right to choose whether their team will bat or field at the start of the match. Before play begins, the captain of each side will inspect the pitch. Based on the pitch and weather conditions, the captains select their final eleven players. If the pitch is soft or dusty, the captain will tend to select more spin bowlers; if the pitch is hard, the choice tends to favor fast bowlers at the expense of spinners. The 2022 Vitality Blast was the 2022 season of the T20 Blast, a professional Twenty20 cricket league played in England and Wales. The tournament was held from 25 May to 16 July 2022.
