Alex Hill (musician)
Alex Hill (April 22, 1906 – February 1937) was an American jazz pianist. Hill was a child prodigy on piano, which he learned from his mother. While studying at Shorter College he met Alphonse Trent, and began arranging material for him. He graduated in 1922 and played in various territory bands, including Terrence Holder's. From 1924 to 1926 he led his own ensemble; later in 1926 he played with Speed Webb, and in 1927 he spent time with Mutt Carey's Jeffersonians and Paul Howard's Quality Serenaders. Late in 1927 he relocated to Chicago, and held a job as an arranger for the Melrose Music Publishing Company, while simultaneously arranging for the Carroll Dickerson Orchestra. He played with Jimmy Wade in 1928, Jimmie Noone in 1929, and Sammy Stewart in 1930. In 1929, Hill plus the guitar players Dan Roberts and Alex Robinson, recorded for Paramount Records billed as the Hokum Boys. Alex Kedoh Hill
Alexander Kedoh Hill (born September 8, 1990) is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Six Nations Chiefs of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Six Nations of the Grand River, Hill began his career with the hometown Six Nations Arrows of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, with whom he played from 2009 to 2011. Hill was eventually called up to the Six Nations Chiefs, and was a member of the 2013 and 2014 Mann Cup winning Chiefs club. Initially drafted by Edmonton Rush in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, Hill saw success in his first game, as he recorded two goals and two assists in a 10-7 loss to the Boston Blazers. Alex Hyndman (also known as Alexandra Hill) is an English broadcast journalist. Early life Hyndman was born in Grantham but grew up in Australia where she was educated at St Aloysius College, Adelaide. She moved back to the UK and attended King Edward VII School (Melton Mowbray), before reading English Literature at Royal Holloway, University of London and Journalism at De Montfort University. Alex Hills
Alex Hills (born 1974) is an English composer of contemporary classical music. He was born in Cambridge. He studied composition with Michael Finnissy at the Royal Academy of Music and completed his doctorate with Brian Ferneyhough at Stanford University. Additional influences include Stefan Wolpe, Iannis Xenakis as well as bands such as The Shaggs and the Yellow Magic Orchestra. A number of his works have been based on Renaissance isorhythmic techniques such as the nonet ''Ficta'' . Other important works include ''Broken Frames'', for cello and piano, and the solo piano pieces ''Injera'' and ''The Principle of Terrestrial Mediocrity'' (which was recorded for CD by Chris Jones). His most substantial work to date is 'Everything in Life can be Montaged', an hour-long piece for soprano, two solo celli, percussion, ensemble and electronics based on ideas and texts by the Russian thinker Viktor Shklovsky. It received its first performance at the Royal Academy of Music in June 2009. ...
