Alex Frost (artist)
Alex Frost is a British contemporary artist, exhibiting internationally. Background Alex Frost currently lives and works in London. Exhibitions Frost's often humorous work addresses the fluid boundaries between public and private space, the virtual and physical, the temporal and permanent. He is best known for his large mosaic sculptures that depict product packaging and branding. These have been included in exhibitions at Dundee Contemporary Arts, Venice Biennale, Milton Keynes Gallery, Studio Voltaire and Frieze Sculpture Park. His recent exhibition ‘The New Work’ referenced the flexible workplace, a place where work and life have lost their distinctions. The exhibition ‘captured’ items that were emblematic of the fluidity of the contemporary workplace. Tottenham
Tottenham () is a town in North London, England, within the London Borough of Haringey. It is located in the ceremonial county of Greater London. Tottenham is centred north-northeast of Charing Cross, bordering Edmonton to the north, Walthamstow, across the River Lea, to the east, and Stamford Hill to the south, with Wood Green and Harringay to the west. Duncan Campbell (artist)
Duncan Campbell (born 1972) is an Irish video artist, based in Glasgow. He was the winner of the 2014 Turner Prize. Early life and education Campbell was born in Dublin, one of the five children of Paddy and Veronica Campbell, entrepreneurs who founded a catering business, Campbell Catering, later sold to Aramark. Paddy Campbell is a noted sculptor, having been, he said, inspired when in his 50s by his son, and three of Duncan's siblings are also active in the arts, as a film producer, a screenwriter and an actress. Campbell grew up in Swords, north Dublin, and studied at the private secondary Sutton Park School. He took a BA at the University of Ulster (1996) and a Masters in Fine Arts at the Glasgow School of Art (1998), remaining resident in Glasgow afterwards. Karla Black
Karla Black (born 1972) is a Scottish sculptor who creates abstract three-dimensional artworks that explore the physicality of materials as a way of understanding and communicating the world around us. In 2011, Black was nominated for the Turner Prize and also represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale. Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Kestnergesellschaft in Hanover, Germany; the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia; the Gemeentemuseum, The Hague; the Dallas Museum of Art; and the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow, Modern Art Oxford and Kunsthalle Nurnberg, Germany. Lucy McKenzie
Lucy McKenzie (born 1977) is a British artist based in Brussels. Biography Born in Glasgow, Scotland, McKenzie studied for her BA at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee from 1995–1999 and at Karlsruhe Kunstakademie in Germany in 1998. McKenzie first came to prominence when she won the EAST award at EASTinternational in 1999 which was selected by Peter Doig and Roy Arden. Errors (band)
Errors are a three piece "post-electro" band from Glasgow, Scotland. They are signed to Rock Action Records, the label founded and managed by the band Mogwai. History The band was formed as a bedroom electronic-based project in Glasgow in 2004 by members Simon Ward, Greg Paterson and Stephen Livingstone. They were signed by Post-Rock band Mogwai to their Rock Action Records imprint who released a limited run 7" single "Hans Herman". The band followed up their debut with the 'How Clean is your Acid House? EP in 2006. Following the release of the EP, the band recruited former Multiplies and Dananananaykroyd drummer James Hamilton, who had been performing as a live member of the band, to the band as a full-time member. Grizedale Arts is a contemporary arts residency and commissioning agency sited in Grizedale Forest in the central Lake District in rural Northern England.
