Alex Carroll
Alex Carroll (born March 18, 1992) is a former Canadian football wide receiver. He played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League in 2015 and later was a member of the Montreal Alouettes in 2017. He previously attended Queen's University where he played college football for the Golden Gaels and studied political science. Early career Carroll played high school football at Mount Douglas Secondary School. He played for the Queen's Golden Gaels from 2010 to 2014, where he was a receiver, kickoff returner, and punt returner. In 2012, Carroll suffered a severe knee injury in a playoff game against the Guelph Gryphons, tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), lateral meniscus, and medial meniscus. The injury required reconstructive surgery. 2014 CFL Draft
The 2014 CFL Draft took place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 7:00 PM ET on TSN. 65 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. A total of 19 trades were made involving draft picks from this year, including six made on draft day itself, with five involving picks from the first round. The Ottawa Redblacks were scheduled to pick first in each round of the 2013 CFL Draft, and were supposed to have two bonus picks at the end of the draft. Due to stadium delays, Ottawa will join the Canadian Football League in 2014, and those stipulations will be applied to this year's draft instead. The BC Lions are a professional Canadian football team based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
