Alexander Ostroumov Bryner (born July 26, 1943) is a Chinese-born Russian American retired lawyer and jurist. Bryner was a justice of the Supreme Court of Alaska from February 1997 to October 2007. Alaska Supreme Court
The Alaska Supreme Court is the state supreme court for the U.S. state of Alaska. Its decisions are binding on all other Alaska state courts, and the only court its decisions may be appealed to is the Supreme Court of the United States. The Alaska Supreme Court hears appeals from lower state courts and also administers the state's judicial system. The court consists of five justices, one of whom is internally chosen to serve as chief justice for a three-year term. The justices are appointed by the governor of Alaska from slates of candidates approved by the Alaska Judicial Council, an independent commission of Alaskan lawyers and lay citizens. Dana Fabe
Dana Anderson Fabe (born March 29, 1951) is an American lawyer, retired judge, and mediator. She served as a justice of the Alaska Supreme Court from 1996 to 2016, including three terms (2000–2003, 2006–2009, and 2012–2015) as the court's chief justice. She previously served as an Alaska trial court judge for nearly eight years, from 1988 to 1996. Fabe was the first woman appointed to the Alaska Supreme Court, as well as its first female chief justice. Early life and education Fabe was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951. She grew up in the Hyde Park neighborhood and attended the Seven Hills School.
