Alessandro Sperelli C.O. (1589–1671) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Gubbio (1644–1671), Apostolic Nuncio to Naples (1652–1653), Auxiliary Bishop of Ostia e Velletri (1642–1644), and Titular Bishop of ''Orthosias in Caria'' (1642–1644). Santa Susanna
The Church of Saint Susanna at the Baths of Diocletian ( it, Chiesa di Santa Susanna alle Terme di Diocleziano) is a Roman Catholic parish church located on the Quirinal Hill in Rome, Italy. There has been a titular church associated to its site as far back as AD 280. The current church was rebuilt from 1585 to 1603 for a monastery of Cistercian nuns founded on the site in 1587, which still exists there. The Biblioteca Comunale Sperelliana (est. 1666) is the main public library, since 2010 housed in the former convent of San Pietro located on Via di Fonte Avellana #8, in Gubbio, province of Perugia, Italy. This library originated on 10 June 1666 with the donation to the city by the bishop of Gubbio, Alessandro Sperelli of his collection of over 7000 volumes. He also provided funds for its maintenance and cataloguing. It was initially housed in the Palazzo Pretorio, Gubbio. The collection grew with the addition of other endowments, including the archival collections of Vincenzo Armanni, the book collections of abott Luigi Ranghiasci, Bonfatti, Mantovani, and of Pietro and Oderigi Lucarelli. Pope Innocent X ( la, Innocentius X; it, Innocenzo X; 6 May 1574 – 7 January 1655), born Giovanni Battista Pamphilj (or Pamphili), was head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from 15 September 1644 to his death in January 1655.
