Alessandro Fei (volleyball)
Alessandro Fei (born 29 November 1978) is an Italian men's volleyball player, a member of Italy men's national volleyball team and Italian club Ninfa Latina. Fei was a silver and bronze medalist at the Olympic Games, World Champion 1998, European Champion (2003, 2005), silver medalist of the European Championship 2001, medalist of the World League (gold in 1999, 2000, silver in 2001, 2004, bronze in 2003), CEV Champions League winner, three-time CEV Cup winner, Challenge Cup winner, four-time Italian Champion. He was chosen among the 2005 Italian League All-Star team. With Sisley Treviso, Fei won the 2005–06 CEV Champions League and was awarded "Most Valuable Player" and "Best Server". Volleyball At The Summer Olympics
Volleyball has been part of the Summer Olympics program for both men and women consistently since 1964. Brazil, the United States and the former Soviet Union are the only teams to win multiple gold medals at the men's tournament since its introduction. The remaining six editions of the Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament were won each by a different country including Japan, Poland, Netherlands, Russia, France, and the defunct Yugoslavia. The Italy men's national volleyball team represents the country in international competitions and friendly matches. The national team is controlled by the Italian Volleyball Federation, the governing body for Volleyball in Italy. It is one of the most successful national teams in the history of volleyball, having won four World Championships (1990, 1994, 1998 and 2022), seven European Championships, one World Cup (1995) and eight World League (1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2000). FIVB World League
The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. From 2018, the World League and World Grand Prix was replaced by the men's and women's Nations League and men's and women's Challenger Cup.
