Surnames Of Italian Origin
In some cultures, a surname, family name, or last name is the portion of one's personal name that indicates one's family, tribe or community. Practices vary by culture. The family name may be placed at either the start of a person's full name, as the forename, or at the end; the number of surnames given to an individual also varies. As the surname indicates genetic inheritance, all members of a family unit may have identical surnames or there may be variations; for example, a woman might marry and have a child, but later remarry and have another child by a different father, and as such both children could have different surnames. It is common to see two or more words in a surname, such as in compound surnames. Compound surnames can be composed of separate names, such as in traditional Spanish culture, they can be hyphenated together, or may contain prefixes. Using names has been documented in even the oldest historical records. Examples of surnames are documented in the 11th ce ...

Palazzo Degli Alessandri, Viterbo
The Palazzo degli Alessandri is a 13th-century palace located in Piazza San Pellegrino number 50 in central Viterbo, Lazio, Italy. The palace and its towers form a piazza creating a quaint but somewhat Escher-like urban jumble of arches, passageways, and terraces. The palace escaped destruction when the Allessandri fled the city after siding with the Guelph forces. The palace was spared destruction by Pope Innocent IV. When the Alessandri family died, the palace passed on to the Pollini family. The Palace underwent a number of reconstructions, the latest in the last century.Arte Citta Viterbo

Palazzo Degli Alessandri
The Palazzo degli Alessandri is an early- Renaissance-style palace located on Borgo degli Albizi number 15 in Florence, Region of Tuscany, Italy. The ''Alessandri'' family derived from a branch of the Albizzi family; documents for the foundation of this branch date from 1372. The two brother Alessandro and Bartolomeo degli Albizi (after 1372 called 'degli Alessandri') built the palace after the purchasing of three lots between 1368-72 and probably completed by 1376. During the Ciompi rebellion of 1378 the palace was ransacked and arson, the west side of the structure collapsed (the lack of rustication is still visible today). The Alessandri (and Albizzi) had been prominent Guelf families linked to the wool production, and thus the Guild of Wool. The coat of arms of the Alessandri was a two heads lamb on a blue field with a gold crown and palm leaves. The family produced twenty-three Priors and nine Gonfaloniers. The palace was enlarged in the 1700s by Cosimo Alessandri.

Alessandro Alessandri
Alessandro Alessandri also known as Alexander ab Alexandro (1461–1523) was a Neapolitan lawyer of great learning, who flourished towards the end of the fifteenth and beginning of the sixteenth century, was descended of the ancient and noble family of the Alexandri of Naples. He was born according to some, in 1461. He followed the profession of the law, first at Naples, and afterwards at Rome; but devoted all the time he could spare to the study of polite literature; and at length entirely left the bar, from scruples of conscience respecting the practice of the law, that he might lead a more easy and agreeable life with the muses. “When I saw,” says he, “that the counsellors could not defend nor assist any one against the power or favour of the mighty, I said it was in vain we took so much pains, and fatigued ourselves with so much study in controversies of law, and with learning such a variety of cases so exactly reported, when I saw the judgments passed according to the t ...
