Alessandra Silvestri-Levy
Alessandra, Princess of Bismarck (née Silvestri-Lévy, born November 1, 1972, in São Paulo) is an Italo-Brazilian art writer and curator. As the wife of Carl-Eduard von Bismarck, she became the Princess of Bismarck in 2019. A patron of the arts, she has produced and curated several exhibitions of photography, contemporary art, literature, and film festivals, mainly in Paris, São Paulo, and Havana. Prince of Bismarck (german: Fürst von Bismarck) is a title of the German nobility. The German word ''Fürst'' historically denotes a sovereign ruler, and is a higher title than ''Prinz''; however both titles are conventionally rendered as ''Prince'' in English. The Prince of Bismarck holds the style of Serene Highness. The title was created in 1871 for the statesman Otto von Bismarck (1815–1898), who received several noble titles during the course of his career. Carl-Eduard Otto Wolfgang Jayme Anders, Prince of Bismarck, often known as Calle von Bismarck, is a German politician. A member of the CDU, he was a member of the Bundestag from 2005 to 2007. The Cinemateca Brasileira is the institution responsible for preserving Brazilian audiovisual production. In July 2021, it experienced a major fire. Since 1940, it has been developing activities around the dissemination and restoration of its collection, with around 250 thousand rolls of films and more than one million documents related to cinema. It is located in Largo Senador Raul Cardoso, São Paulo. The building previously acted as the Old Municipal Slaughterhouse of São Paulo from 1887 to 1927. It had the largest collection of "moving images" in Latin America and is one of the largest institutions of its kind in the world. It preserved a large part of the nation's cinematographic content and houses the greatest collection of Brazilian cinema, with more than 250,000 rolls of film.
