Horlivka
Horlivka ( , ; uk, Го́рлівка ), or Gorlovka (russian: link=no, Горловка ), is a city of regional significance in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. 2018 European Athletics Championships
The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom. For the second Championships in a row the Russian team did not participate; this was due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, several athletes were cleared by the IAAF to compete as Authorised Neutral Athletes under the flag of the European Athletic Association. The men's hammer throw at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics is being held at the Olympic Stadium on 9 and 11 August. Summary The final started with Aleksei Sokirskiy (ANA)'s 76.22 m early leader. Wojciech Nowicki (POL) slightly improved upon that to 77.36 m but the next thrower Quentin Bigot (FRA) hit the first round leader 77.05 m on the next throw. Near the end of the round, Valeriy Pronkin (ANA) moved into second place with his 77.00 m. In the second round, Sokirskiy improved to 77.50 m, while Olympic champion Dilshod Nazarov (TJK) moved into second with his best of the day 77.22m. In the third round, Nick Miller (GBR) put himself into bronze medal position with his 77.31 m best, but two throws later Nowicki threw his best of 78.03 m to take the lead followed by Bigot improving to 77.46 m. Authorised Neutral Athletes
Authorised Neutral Athlete (ANA) is a capacity under which athletes can compete at international sporting competitions without representing their nations, as is standard convention under the Olympic Charter. As of August 2022, only Russian and Belarusian athletes of some sports have competed or are competing within the ANA capacity. Originally introduced in athletics in 2017 following the Russian doping scandal which first came to light in December 2014, the term was introduced to other sports following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Quoting a breach of the Olympic Truce by the Russian government in which Belarus was complicit, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended banning all teams, officials and competitors from Russia and Belarus from being involved in sport, but where this was not possible, to allow individuals to compete in a neutral capacity. The Men's Hammer throw event at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Daegu Stadium on August 27 & 29. Koji Murofushi took the lead with his first throw, improving on each of his first three throws to 81.24. Primož Kozmus moved into second place with a second round 79.39 while Krisztián Pars made a minor improvement with every throw (except his failed fifth attempt), passing Kozmus on his fourth throw. Pars last throw was his best, but 81.18 was not quite enough to catch Murofushi.
