Aleksandr Kartsev
Aleksandr Nikolayevich Kartsev (Russian: Александр Николаевич Карцев; born 31 December 2001) is a Russian artistic gymnast. He competed as an individual representing the Russian Olympic Committee at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Career As a junior, Kartsev competed at the 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival where he was part of the Russian team alongside Yuri Busse and Sergei Naidin that won the team gold medal ahead of Great Britain and Switzerland. He also won two individual medals: a gold on the horizontal bar and a silver on the parallel bars. In 2019, Kartsev competed at the Osijek World Cup, taking the silver medal in the horizontal bar final, as well as the bronze in the parallel bars final. He placed seventh in the parallel bars final at the 2019 Paris World Challenge Cup. Kartsev represented Russia at the 2021 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Basel, Switzerland. Denis Mikhailovich Ablyazin ( rus, Денис Михайлович Аблязин, , dʲɪˈnʲis ɐˈblʲæzʲɪn, born 3 August 1992) is a Russian artistic gymnast. Ablyazin is Olympic Champion 2020 in Tokyo and a seven-time Olympic Games medalist. At the 2012 London Olympics he won silver in vault and bronze in floor. At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, he won silver with the Russian men's team, a silver in vault and bronze in rings. The Russian Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships (russian: Первенство России по спортивной гимнастике) are organized annually by the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation. Horizontal Bar
The horizontal bar, also known as the high bar, is an apparatus used by male gymnasts in artistic gymnastics. It traditionally consists of a cylindrical metal (typically steel) bar that is rigidly held above and parallel to the floor by a system of cables and stiff vertical supports. Parallel bars are floor apparatus consisting of two wooden bars slightly over long and positioned at roughly head height. Parallel bars are used in artistic gymnastics and also for physical therapy and home exercise. The vault is an artistic gymnastics apparatus which gymnasts perform on, as well as the skill performed using that apparatus. Vaulting is also the action of performing a vault. Both male and female gymnasts perform the vault. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is VT.
