Aleksandr Borisovich Rodionov
Aleksandr Borisovich Rodionov (; 12 September 1902 – 24 July 1944) was a Red Army Colonel (Eastern Europe), colonel who held division command during World War II. Early life and Russian Civil War Rodionov was born on 12 September 1902 in the city of Troitskosavsk, Transbaikal Oblast. He was conscripted into the Red Army in September 1921 and sent to serve in the guard company of the border troops headquarters in Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai, Chita, but was discharged from service for family reasons in November of that year. Rodionov was reconscripted into the army in March 1922 and appointed to the Verkhneudinsk Guard Battalion. From May he was listed with the 2nd Rifle Regiment of the 1st Chita Brigade, and from July in the ''uyezd'' military directorate at Iman. The Spassk operation (), also known as the storming of Spassk, was an attack by the People's Revolutionary Army (NRA) of the Far Eastern Republic (DVR) on the forces of the White Zemskaya Rat at Spassk. The attack took place between 7 and 9 October 1922 during the NRA's Primorsky operation to take control of Primorye, the last major operation of the Russian Civil War. During the operation, the NRA forces stormed Spassk, one of the major settlements of Primorye and an important center of resistance of the Zemskaya rat, clearing the path to Vladivostok. Usvyaty (russian: Усвяты) is an urban locality (a work settlement) and the administrative center of Usvyatsky District of Pskov Oblast, Russia. It is located on the right bank of the Usvyacha River, between Lake Uzmen and Lake Usvyaty, two biggest lakes in the area. Municipally, it is incorporated as Usvyaty Urban Settlement, the only urban settlement in the district. Nevel (russian: Не́вель) is a town and the administrative center of Nevelsky District in Pskov Oblast, Russia, located on Lake Nevel southeast of Pskov, the administrative center of the oblast. The 22nd Army () was a field army of the Red Army during World War II. The 22nd Army was formed in June 1941 after the German invasion of the Soviet Union and served through World War II until its disbandment in 1945.
