Nesodden
Nesodden is a municipality in Akershus in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Follo. The administrative centre of the municipality is Nesoddtangen. Biathlon Junior World Championships were first held in 1967 for men and in 1984 for women. According to the International Biathlon Union rules, biathletes qualify as Junior if they turn 20, 21 or 22 during the season from November to October, they qualify as Youth when they turn 17, 18 or 19 during the season. The Biathlon World Cup is a top-level biathlon season-long competition series. It has been held since the winter seasons of 1977–78 Biathlon World Cup, 1977–78 for men and 1982–83 Biathlon World Cup, 1982–83 for women. The women's seasons until 1986–87 Biathlon World Cup, 1986–87 season were called the European Cup, although participation was not restricted to Europeans. Competition and format The World Cup season lasts from November or December to late March, with meetings in a different venue every week excluding some holidays and a couple of weeks before the season's major championships (World Championships or Winter Olympics). Filip Fjeld Andersen (born 4 July 1999) is a Norwegian biathlete. He has competed in the Biathlon World Cup since 2022. He is the younger brother of former Norwegian biathlete Aleksander Fjeld Andersen. Biography Early life Andersen started skiing at the age of one and a half years old, and started biathlon at the age of 12. Less than a year after starting biathlon, he finished second among 1000 youths competing in Norway. 2018-2020: Youth and Junior world championships After the 2018 IBU Youth World Championships, where he came second in the Individual race, he was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.
