Alejandro Posada
Alejandro Posada Gómez (born in Bogotá 1960) is a Colombian conductor. Education Posada studied in Colombia and Austria. Career In 1992 Posada won second prize at the Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition. In 2002 he was appointed chief conductor of the Castile and León Symphony Orchestra and the following year he combined this role with a shared directorship at the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia. In 2009, Posada left his post at the Castile and León Symphony Orchestra and was replaced by Lionel Bringuier. Alejandro Posadas
Alejandro Posadas (December 28, 1870 – November 21, 1902) was an Argentinian physician and surgeon specializing in pediatric surgery. He was the first person to film an operation and brought the first x-ray to the country of Argentina. Posadas was the first person to describe coccidioidomycosis (later known as Posadas Disease) and ''Coccidioides posadasii'' was named after him. A victim of tuberculosis Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease usually caused by '' Mycobacterium tuberculosis'' (MTB) bacteria. The Cadaqués Orchestra International Conducting Competition, is a music competition for young conducting, conductors organized by the Cadaqués Orchestra in Catalonia, Spain. History The competition takes place every two years and is organized by the Cadaqués Orchestra. The first competition was organized in 1992 with the idea of being a platform for young conductors starting their professional careers. Lionel Bringuier
Lionel Bringuier (born 24 September 1986), Nice, is a French conductor, cellist and pianist. Bringuier is the fourth child in a family of musicians, including his brother Nicolas Bringuier, a pianist. At age 5, Bringuier began musical studies at the Nice conservatory, where he won several first prizes. At age 13, in February 2000, he was admitted to the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, where he continued his studies in cello and in conducting. His teachers there have included Philippe Muller. At the Conservatoire de Paris, he then began conducting studies, where his teachers included Zsolt Nagy. Bringuier graduated cum laude from the Conservatoire de Paris with diplomas in cello studies and conducting in June 2004. Bringuier has performed in a cello-piano duo with his brother Nicolas. Antonio José Martínez Palacios (12 December 190211 October 1936), professionally known as Antonio José, was a Spanish composer. Maurice Ravel apparently said of Antonio José: "He will become ''the'' Spanish composer of our century", however, his music lay forgotten until the 1980s. Career Born in Burgos, Antonio José became a music teacher at a Jesuit school and conducted the city choir in Burgos. The sheer volume of his work (he died at 33) was prodigious. He penned his first composition when he was 14. He was hired as a director of a musical review in Burgos at the age of 18. He wrote extensively for voice in his quest to present the melodies of his native Burgos to the world.
