Alejandro Luis Alvizuri Mack (born April 18, 1968) is a retired backstroke swimmer from Peru, who represented his native country in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1984 (Los Angeles, California). His biggest success was winning the bronze medal in the men's 100 m backstroke at the 1987 Pan American Games. Alvizuri has a long history of accomplishments in South American Championships and Games. Between 1983 and 1992, Alejandro earned a total of 14 South American Championship medals, from which he has won gold five times. While a varsity swimmer at the University of Michigan, Alejandro became a four-time All American, and a four-time Letter winner at Michigan. Alejandro Chataing (February 24, 1873 – April 16, 1928) was an important Venezuelan architect. Chataing was known as the "great constructor of the regime of Cipriano Castro." He was a prolific architect who helped give Caracas a new face. Alejandro Francisco Casañas Ramírez (born January 29, 1954) is a former Cuban hurdler. At the 1977 Summer Universiade in Sofia he set a new world record in the 110 m hurdles with a time 13.21 seconds. This record would, however, only stand for two years. He could never fully copy the world-leading performance at the Olympic Games, where he won silver medals in 1976 and 1980. Alejandro Carrión Aguirre (11 March 1915 – 4 January 1992) was an Ecuadorian poet, novelist and journalist. He wrote the novel ''La espina'' (1959), the short story book ''La manzana dañada'' (1983), and numerous poetry books. As a journalist he published many of his articles under the pseudonym " Juan Sin Cielo." In 1956 he founded, along with Pedro Jorge Vera, the political magazine '' La Calle''. Alejandro Bustillo (18 March 1889 – 3 November 1982) was an Argentine painter and architect who left his mark in various tourist destinations in Argentina, especially in the Andean region of the Patagonia. Biography Born in Buenos Aires, son of María Luisa Madero and Dr. José María Bustillo, he completed his secondary school studies at Otto Krause Technical School. Alejandro Jacobo Betts (born Alexander Jacob Betts, 28 October 1947 – 13 March 2020) was a Falklands-born Argentine air-traffic controller and activist who worked with the Argentine government as a technical advisor on the Tierra del Fuego Malvinas Question Provincial Observatory Advisory Council.
