Alecrim Futebol Clube, also known as Alecrim (), are a Brazilian football team from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. They competed in the Série A in 1986. History Alecrim Futebol Clube were founded on August 15, 1915, by a group of boys that included the future Brazilian President, Café Filho. They won the Campeonato Potiguar seven times. Alecrim competed in the Série A in 1986 when they were eliminated in the first stage of the competition. On February 4, 1968, the famous player Garrincha played a game for Alecrim against Sport. In 2012, Alecrim appointed Englishman Anthony Armstrong-Emery, as the first foreign President of a Brazilian club. Stadium Alecrim played their home games at Estádio Dr. João Cláudio Vasconcelos Machado, commonly known as Machadão. The stadium had a maximum capacity of 45,000 people. Estádio Dr. João Cláudio Vasconcelos Machado, usually known as Machadão, was a multi-purpose stadium in the Brazilian city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. It was mostly used for football matches. Estádio Machadão was owned by the Natal City Hall. The stadium was named after João Cláudio Vasconcelos Machado, who was the president of the Rio Grande do Norte Football Federation and a sports broadcaster. Estádio Machadão (along with the Ginasio do Machadindo) was demolished at the end of 2011 to make room for the construction of the Arena das Dunas for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The Campeonato Potiguar is the football league of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Format First Division First stage: standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once. Second stage: home-and-away playoffs between the top 8 teams in the first stage. The winner of this stage is crowned the champion. The team last placed in the first stage is relegated to the second division. As in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. Leandson Dias da Silva (born 4 April 1981), commonly known as Rico, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker. Club career Born in Recife, Rico joined São Paulo Futebol Clube in 2002, and played on the same team as Brazil international and A.C. Milan midfielder Kaká. He also played for Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto-Alegrense. Rico moved to Bahrain to play for Muharraq Club in 2005, and has spent the past five seasons there. Last season Rico scored many important goals leading Muharraq to the Bahraini premiership. Rico scored in the last second of the match against Sitra by a penalty to secure the league for Muharraq. Manuel Francisco dos Santos (28 October 1933 – 20 January 1983), nicknamed Mané Garrincha, best known as simply Garrincha (, "little bird"), was a Brazilian professional footballer who played as a right winger.
