Aldwyn Sappleton
Aldwyn Sappleton (born 21 December 1981, in Saint Ann Parish) is a Jamaican track and field athlete, who specialized in middle distance running. He won three medals, including gold in the 1500 metres, at the 1999 CARIFTA Games in Fort-de-France, Martinique. He is also a four-time All-American track and field athlete, while playing for the Oklahoma Sooners, at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Sappleton represented Jamaica at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and competed in the men's 800 metres. He ran in the seventh heat of the event, against seven other competitors, including Netherlands' Robert Lathouwers, and Andrew Wheating Andrew "Andy" Wheating is a retired American middle distance runner. Saint Ann Parish
Saint Ann is the largest parish in Jamaica. It is situated on the north coast of the island, in the county of Middlesex, roughly halfway between the eastern and western ends of the island. The men's 800 metres at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place from 20–23 August at the Beijing National Stadium. Fifty-eight athletes from 40 nations competed. Andrew "Andy" Wheating is a retired American middle distance runner. Wheating competed for the United States in the men's 800 m at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and in the 1500 m at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was a professional runner for Nike. Personal Wheating was born in 1987 in Norwich, Vermont, the son of Justin and Betsy Wheating. His father, born in South Africa, was a field hockey player. High school Wheating originally played soccer in high school. He ran two seasons of cross country and one season of track during his stay at Kimball Union Academy. During his first season of track in his senior year, he burst onto the track scene, ranking fourth nationally with a time of 3:54.28 in the 1500 m.
