Alderman Lesmond
Alderman Rowe Nicholas Lesmond (born 7 July 1978) is an American Virgin Islander sportsman who has played both cricket and soccer for his country. He was born in Saint Lucia. A wicket-keeper and left-handed batsman, Lesmond made his first-class cricket debut for the Leeward Islands against Jamaica in the 2005–06 Carib Beer Cup. He made three further first-class appearances for the team, the last of which came against Barbados in the same season. In his four first-class matches, he scored 38 runs at an average of 7.60, with a high score of 13 not out. He also played List A cricket for the Leeward Islands, making his debut in that format against Jamaica in the 2005–06 KFC Cup. Micoud
Micoud District is one of 10 districts (formerly called quarters) of the Caribbean island nation of Saint Lucia The seat of this district is the town of Micoud inside this district. According to the 2002 census, the population of the district was 16,143 people. The final 2010 Census recorded a population of 16,284 in Micoud District. The Jamaica national cricket team or officially the Jamaica Scorpions, is the representative first-class cricket team representing Jamaica at the West Indies domestic competitions. History The team's history goes back to 1895, when they played three matches against a touring side from England led by Slade Lucas, but because of the distance to the other cricketing countries, Jamaica did not play regular first-class cricket until 1964. Stumping
Stumped is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket, which involves the wicket-keeper putting down the wicket while the batsman is out of his ground. (The batsman leaves his ground when he has moved down the pitch beyond the popping crease, usually in an attempt to hit the ball). The action of stumping can only be performed by a wicket-keeper, and can only occur from a legitimate delivery (i.e. not a no-ball), while the batsman is not attempting a run; it is a special case of a run out. Being "out of his ground" is defined as not having any part of the batsman's body or his bat touching the ground behind the crease – i.e., if his bat is slightly elevated from the floor despite being behind the crease, or if his foot is on the crease line itself but not completely across it and touching the ground behind it, then he would be considered out (if stumped). Catch (cricket)
Caught is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket. A batsman is out caught if the batsman hits the ball, from a legitimate delivery, with the bat, and the ball is caught by the bowler or a fielder before it hits the ground. Antigua And Barbuda National Cricket Team
A cricket team representing Antigua and Barbuda has been active since the late 1890s. Stanford 20/20
The Stanford 20/20 was a short-lived cricket tournament in the Caribbean island of Antigua. It was held first in July and August 2006 in the West Indies at the Stanford Cricket Ground, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and then again in the same place in 2008. It was a variety of the popular Twenty20 format, which had been first introduced in English cricket in 2003. The tournament was separate to the Stanford Super Series, which was held in late 2008. The tournament was privately devised and funded by wealthy American businessman Allen Stanford, who held Antiguan dual nationality. 2005–06 KFC Cup
The 2005–06 KFC Cup was the 32nd edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The competition was the first to be sponsored by KFC, with a sponsorship contract only being signed after the opening round had already been played. The six teams participating in the competition were Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands. The round-robin stage was played in Barbados, with the semi-finals and final all played in Guyana, at Georgetown's Bourda. Guyana were undefeated in the round-robin, and eventually defeated Barbados in the final to win their ninth domestic one-day title.
