Alcoletge
Alcoletge is a village in the province of Lleida and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. History Alcoletge was first mentioned in documents from the year 1118, in an agreement between Ramón Berenguer III and Arnau Berenguer of Anglesola. This Count of Barcelona received the castle from Alcoletge de Ibn Hilal (Avifelel), the Almoravid from Lleida. It is precisely the name of this document (al-Kolaia) from which the town received its name. It seems that there was a Visigothic village in the area that was the foundation of the Muslim nucleus. The parish was documented in 1168 and in 1200 it formed part of Lleida. Part of the municipality belonged to the monastery of Junqueras of Barcelona until the end of the feudal system. During the Catalan Revolt the castle was destroyed and the sixteenth-century shrine which depended on the Junqueras convent, Barcelona, was sacked and in 1665 the location was listed as deserted. Lleida
Lleida (, ; Spanish: Lérida ) is a city in the west of Catalonia, Spain. It is the capital city of the province of Lleida. Geographically, it is located in the Catalan Central Depression. It is also the capital city of the Segrià comarca, as well as the largest city in the province. It had 137,387 inhabitants , including the contiguous towns of Raimat and Sucs. Lleida is one of the oldest towns in Catalonia, with recorded settlements dating back to the Bronze Age period. Until the Roman conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, the area served as a settlement for an Iberian people, the Ilergetes. The town became a municipality, named Ilerda, under the reign of Augustus. Almoravid
The Almoravid dynasty ( ar, المرابطون, translit=Al-Murābiṭūn, lit=those from the ribats) was an imperial Berber Muslim dynasty centered in the territory of present-day Morocco. It established an empire in the 11th century that stretched over the western Maghreb and Al-Andalus, starting in the 1050s and lasting until its fall to the Almohads in 1147. The Almoravid capital was Marrakesh, a city founded by the Almoravid leader Abu Bakr ibn Umar circa 1070. The Reapers' War ( ca, Guerra dels Segadors, , es, Guerra de los Segadores), also known as the Catalan Revolt, was a conflict that affected a large part of the Principality of Catalonia between the years of 1640 and 1659.
