Alcamarinayoc (possibly from Aymara and Quechua ''allqamari'' mountain caracara) or Colque Cruz (possibly from Aymara and Quechua ''qullqi'' money, silver, Spanish ''cruz'' cross) is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Cusco Region, Quispicanchi Province, Ocongate District. Alcamarinayoc lies northwest of the peak of Chumpe, north of Quevesere and northeast of Ichhu Ananta. First Ascent Colque Cruz was first climbed by Craig Merrihue, William Hooker, Steven Jervis, Earle Whipple (USA) 14 August 1957. Elevation Other data from available digital elevation models: SRTM yields 6069 metres, ASTER 6050 metres and TanDEM-X 6111 metres. The height of the nearest key col is 4792 meters, leading to a topographic prominence of 1310 meters. Vilcanota Mountain Range
The Cordillera Vilcanota (Spanish ''cordillera'': "mountain range", Aymara Willkan Uta or Willkanuta: "house of the sun") is a mountain range located in Peru southeast of Cusco, on the boundary between the regions of Cusco and Puno. It extends between 13°39' and 14°29'S and 70°31' and 71°20'W for about 80 km. It includes 469 glaciers. To the east the rivers San Gabán and Azángaro are the natural boundary which separates it from the Carabaya range. The La Raya range near the La Raya pass is sometimes included or listed separately. ASTER (sensor)
The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) is a Japanese remote sensing instrument onboard the Terra satellite launched by NASA in 1999. It has been collecting data since February 2000. ASTER provides high-resolution images of Earth in 14 different bands of the electromagnetic spectrum, ranging from visible to thermal infrared light.
