Ludovica Albertoni
Ludovica Albertoni (1473 - 31 January 1533) was an Italian people, Italian Roman Catholic Church, Roman Catholic noblewoman from the Renaissance period and a professed member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. The death of her husband prompted her to dedicate her life to the service of the poor in Rome and she was also known for her Ecstasy (religion), ecstatic experiences. Her fame for holiness became widespread in Rome and devotion to her remained intense after her death which prompted Pope Clement X to approve her beatification in 1671. Life Ludovica Albertoni was born in 1473 in Rome to the prominent nobles Stefano Albertoni and Lucretia Tebaldi. Her father died around 1475 and she was entrusted to the care of her paternal aunts who saw to it that she had a Christian education. Her parents had arranged her betrothal and in obedience she married the nobleman Giacomo della Cetera in 1494. Pietro Albertoni
Pietro Albertoni (22 September 1849 – 8 November 1933 ) was an Italian physiologist and politician who was appointed Senator of the Kingdom in 1912. Biography Pietro Albertoni was born in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, Mantua on 22 September 1849. His father Giovanni was a surgeon. In 1866, when only sixteen years of age, he enlisted in the ranks of Garibaldi's partisans and participated in the battle of Bezzecca. In 1873 he graduated in medicine at the University of Padua. After graduation, he entered the Institute of Physiology directed by Filippo Lussana. In Padua he completed studies on different aspects of the physiology of the digestive and nervous systems, and the physiology of development. He worked on forensic medicine related to poisonings. In 1876 Albertoni became professor of physiology in the University of Siena, then in 1878 professor of materia medica at the University of Genoa. Paluzzo Paluzzi Altieri degli Albertoni (8 June 1623 – 29 June 1698) was an Italian Catholic Cardinal and Cardinal-Nephew to Pope Clement X. Biography Altieri was born Paluzzo Paluzzi degli Albertoni in Rome, the eldest of two sons to Antonio Paluzzi degli Albertoni (second Marquis of Rasina) and Laura Carpegna. He studied at the University of Perugia and earned a doctorate of law. Thereafter he became a cleric of the Apostolic Chamber during the final part of the pontificate of Pope Urban VIII and during the pontificate of Pope Innocent X. He became Auditor-General of the Apostolic Chamber during the pontificate of Pope Alexander VII. In 1664, Altieri was elevated to Cardinal ''in pectore'' by Pope Alexander VII. His elevation to cardinal was published in 1666 and he was made Cardinal-Priest of Santi Apostoli, Rome.
