Alberta Métis Federation
The Alberta Métis Federation (AMF) is an umbrella group founded in February 2020 represented by six local Metis in Alberta, Métis communities in Alberta that had separated from the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA). The AMF is a decentralized body lead by the presidents of its member organizations, called "Metis community associations". A seventh local community organization representing Edmonton was founded after the creation of the AMF. The creation of the AMF occurred the same month that the Fort McKay Métis Community Association was recognized by the Government of Alberta as the rightful representative of that community's indigenous rights, over the objections of the MNA, which claims to speak for all Metis in Alberta. Métis In Alberta
Alberta's Métis people are descendants of mixed First Nations/Indigenous peoples and white/European families. The Métis are considered an aboriginal group under Canada's ''Constitution Act, 1982''. They are separate and distinct from First Nations, though they live in the same regions and have cultural similarities, and have different legal rights. Different Métis groups attempted to combine the joint influences of the Manitoba Métis Federation, the Métis Nation of Alberta, and the Métis Nation Saskatchewan. This was done in hopes that Alberta's Métis would receive land and resource rights. The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) a federally recognized Métis organization provincially incorporated in Manitoba, Canada, on 28 December 1967. Its current president is David Chartrand. Chard Métis Community Association

Plamondon is a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada within Lac La Biche County. It is located on Highway 858, approximately north of Highway 55, and has an elevation of . The hamlet is located in Census Division No. 12 and in the federal riding of Fort McMurray-Athabasca. Lac La Biche ( ) is a hamlet in Lac La Biche County within northeast Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately northeast of the provincial capital of Edmonton. Previously incorporated as a town, Lac La Biche amalgamated with Lakeland County to form Lac La Biche County on August 1, 2007.
