Albert Du Roy De Blicquy
Lieutenant General Baron Albert Aquila Alexis Maria du Roy de Blicquy (June 12, 1869 - September 9, 1940) was a Belgian General. Family He was born in the Noble house of du Roy, from French aristocracy. He is the son of Fernand du Roy de Blicquy (1836-1913) and Leontine d'Hanins de Moerkerke (1843-1918), he married the Vicomtesse de Beughem. Career He made a career at the Belgian royal Court and was Aide-de-camp to the Count of Flanders between 1898-1900. Later he became chief of the Military household of the King. As Ordenance Officer to King Albert he was always around the king. A portrait of him was painted by Herbert Arnould Olivier in February 1915. Herbert Arnould Olivier
__NOTOC__ Herbert Arnould Olivier, R.I. (9 September 1861 – 2 March 1952), was a British artist, best known for his portrait and landscape paintings. He was an uncle of Laurence Olivier. Life Olivier was born in Battle, East Sussex, England, where his father Henry Arnould Olivier was a clergyman. His brothers were Henry (1850–1935), who had a military career, ending as a colonel; Sydney (the father of Noël and Daphne), who became Governor of Jamaica and later Secretary of State for India; and Gerard (1869–1939), a clergyman (the father of Laurence Olivier). He also had four sisters. Olivier was educated between 1875 and 1877 at Sherborne School, a public school in Dorset and in 1922 gave his painting ''Easter Morn'' to the school. The painting was originally intended for a church in Italy but it was put in such a bad light that he refused to leave it there. The ''Croix de guerre'' ( French) or ''Oorlogskruis'' (Dutch), both literally translating as "Cross of War", is a military decoration of the Kingdom of Belgium established by royal decree on 25 October 1915. The Order of the Crown of Romania is a chivalric order set up on 14 March 1881 by King Carol I of Romania to commemorate the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania. It was awarded as a state order until the end of the Romanian monarchy in 1947. It was revived on 30 December 2011 as a dynastic order.
