Albert Lynn Williams
Albert Lynn Williams (March 17, 1911 – 1982) was an American business executive who was president of IBM from May 1961 until March 1966. Born in Berwick, Pennsylvania, Williams attended Beckley College and became a Certified Public Accountant. He worked for IBM in sales positions from 1938 until 1942, when he was promoted to a position at IBM corporate headquarters in New York City. According to the IBM corporate website, Williams was elected IBM Controller in November 1942, IBM Treasurer in 1947, and Vice President and Treasurer in 1948. The IBM Board of Directors elected him a member in July 1951. In 1954, he was elected Executive President and, in May 1961, president of IBM. Williams became a member of the IBM Board's Executive and Finance Committee in 1956. Albert Clifford Williams
Albert Clifford Williams, BEM (28 June 1905 – 1987) was a Welsh Labour Party politician and miner at Rose Heyworth Colliery in Abertillery. He went to a primary school in Blaina, Monmouthshire but started work in the mines at the age of 14. Williams became a National Union of Mineworkers official in 1934. In 1952 he became a Justice of the Peace and he was a member of hospital boards for thirty years. He was also Chairman of Usk River Board for ten years. Williams was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1957. A Monmouthshire County Councillor, he became a County Alderman in 1964 and served until 1974 when Aldermen were abolished. In April 1965 he was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for the safe Labour seat of Abertillery in a by-election after the death of sitting MP Llywelyn Williams. Albert Rhys Williams (September 28, 1883 – February 27, 1962), commonly known by his middle name, pronounced "Reece," was an American journalist, labor organizer, and publicist. He is most famous for writing memoirs in favor of the 1917 October Revolution in Russia: he had been both a witness and a participant. Early life He was born in Greenwich, Ohio, on September 28, 1883, to David Thomas Williams, a Congregationalist minister, and Esther Rees (Rhys). Both of his parents were immigrants from Wales. All of Rhys's brothers (he was the second of four) followed in the footsteps of their father and became ministers. Of them, David Rhys Williams (one of two youngest) had a long and distinguished career in the Unitarian ministry. At the end of the 1880s the family settled in the New York State resort community. Albert Hamilton Williams DeSouza is an Afro-Nicaraguan former professional baseball pitcher. He played all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball, from until , all for the Minnesota Twins. Williams was originally signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as an amateur free agent in 1975. He pitched two seasons in the Pirates minor league system, but was released by Pittsburgh because the Nicaraguan Government would not grant him a visa to leave the country to play baseball in the United States. This prompted Williams to sign up with the Sandinista rebels and he was engaged in jungle fighting against the forces of Anastasio Somoza from 1977 through 1978 during the Nicaraguan Revolution. Albert Williams (12 February 1927 – 28 November 2007) was a British trade unionist. Born in Stockport, Williams left school at the age of fourteen and completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer with the Manchester Corporation. During World War II, he served in India and South East Asia, remaining in the forces until 1948.
