Albert Ramdin
Albert Ramchand Ramdin (born 27 February 1958) is a Surinamese diplomat serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs (Suriname), Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Suriname, Santokhi cabinet since 16 July 2020. He is a member of the Progressive Reform Party (Suriname), Progressive Reform Party (VHP). Early life and education Ramdin was born in Suriname (district), Suriname District and went to secondary school in Paramaribo. After completing secondary school, he left for the Netherlands where he studied social geography at the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Career In 1991, Ramdin became the Director of the HIMOS Development Agency in Oegstgeest, Netherlands. In 1997, Ramdin was appointed as the Permanent Representative of the Organization of American States (OAS) for Suriname. Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Chandrikapersad "Chan" Santokhi ( Sarnami: चान संतोखी; ; born 3 February 1959) is a Surinamese politician and former police officer who is the 9th president of Suriname, since 2020. After winning the 2020 elections, Santokhi was the sole nominee for president of Suriname. On 13 July, Santokhi was elected president by acclamation in an uncontested election. Oegstgeest () is a town and municipality in the province of South Holland in the western Netherlands. Its population was in . Etymology The portion ''geest'' in the name refers to the geest lands, which were excavated in the seventeenth century for the benefit of the urban expansion of Leiden.
