Albert Perera
Albert Perera (died 1965) was a Sri Lankan boxer who mainly competed in the bantamweight category. Career He represented Ceylon at the 1948 Summer Olympics, the year Ceylon got independence from the British Empire. It was also the first Olympics where Ceylon was eligible to participate and Albert competed in the men's bantamweight event. The Commonwealth Games, often referred to as the Friendly Games or simply the Comm Games, are a quadrennial international multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930, and, with the exception of 1942 and 1946 (cancelled due to World War II), have successively run every four years since.
