Albert O. Sorge
Albert Owen Sorge (February 9, 1881 – August 30, 1967) was an American businessman and politician. Born in the town of Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin, Sorge served in the Wisconsin National Guard for two years. He went to dairy school at University of Wisconsin, worked with creameries in Elroy, Wisconsin and then worked for his father Henry W. Sorge in the creamery business in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Sorge was involved with the Baraboo Valley Agricultural Association. In 1911, Sorge served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and was a Democrat. The Town of Reedsburg is located in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,236 at the 2000 census. The City of Reedsburg is located within the town, though it is politically independent. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 30.8 square miles (79.7 km2), of which, 30.8 square miles (79.6 km2) of it is land and 0.03% is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,236 people, 394 households, and 334 families residing in the town. The population density was 40.2 people per square mile (15.5/km2). Sauk County is a county in Wisconsin. It is named after a large village of the Sauk people. As of the 2020 census, the population was 65,763. Its county seat and largest city is Baraboo. The county was created in 1840 from Wisconsin Territory and organized in 1844. Sauk County comprises the Baraboo, WI Micropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Madison metropolitan area.
