Albert Česká republika, s.r.o., is a division of the Netherlands-based Ahold Delhaize group, operating in the Czech Republic. The company (then known as Euronova a.s.) began trading in Czechoslovakia in 1990. Today it operates the approximately 330 outlets forming the supermarket chain Albert. History The company opened its first store in 1991, under the brand name Mana (supermarket), Mana. This outlet, in Jihlava, was Czechoslovakia's first supermarket. In 2005, Ahold took over 56 outlets of the Austrian-based Julius Meinl supermarket when the latter company left the Czech market, and remodelled them to conform to their Albert brand. In 2009, the company dropped the Hypernova brand, re-branding all hypermarket operations to the name Albert Hypermarket. Albert, Texas
Albert, originally Martinsburg, is a ghost town southeast of Fredericksburg and west of the Blanco County line in southeastern Gillespie County, Texas, United States. The town was a stop on the Fredericksburg-Blanco stage route and in 1967 became a stop on the President's Ranch Trail. In late October 2007, the town was put up for sale on the auction website eBay. Early history On December 15, 1847, a petition was submitted to create Gillespie County. In 1848, the legislature formed Gillespie County from Bexar and Travis counties. While the signers were overwhelmingly German immigrants, names also on the petition were Castillo, Pena, Munos, and a handful of non-German Anglo names. The first white settlers were George Cauley, Ben White, Sr., and a man named Jacobs. The Rural Municipality of Albert is a former rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was originally incorporated as a rural municipality on December 1, 1905. It ceased on January 1, 2015 as a result of its provincially mandated amalgamation with the RM of Arthur and the RM of Edward to form the Municipality of Two Borders. It had a population of 339 in the 2006 census and was located in the Westman Region of the province. This primarily agricultural municipality was formed in 1905 by a subdivision of the Rural Municipality of Arthur. The new entity was named after Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). The population declined by 11.3% from 2001 to 2006.
